Troubleshooting I/O Cable
• P
erform a loop-back test to test the
computer, comm port, and cable
• With the I/O cable connected to the
computer:
– Disconnect the I/O cable from the CTD
– Use a bent paper clip to insert into
pins 2 and 3 at the CTD end of the cable
– Any characters typed in terminal
program should echo on the screen (the
paper clip creates a loop back to the
computer)
